Warm & relaxing

Cairns is a popular holiday destination for a few reasons. One of the main draws is its proximity to the Great Barrier Reef, which is one of the world's most famous natural wonders and a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Visitors to Cairns can take boat trips to the reef to snorkel or scuba dive, and see the colorful coral and marine life that call it home. Cairns also has a tropical climate with an average year-round temp of 25*C and is surrounded by mountains, national parks, and rainforests, which provide opportunities for activities such as hiking, swimming in waterfalls and hot springs, and other outdoor activities.

Additionally, the city has a variety of amazing restaurants, shops, markets, and nightlife options, providing more options for visitors. Bordering the city is Edge Hill home to the city's botanical gardens, a national treasure full of exotic tropical species. Visitors are welcome to hike the trails (Red Arrow), winding up the Whitfield Conservation Park culminating in views over the Cairns airport and out to the islands of the Great Barrier Reef. Many visitors choose to stay in Edge Hill not only to explore the beauty of the Botanical gardens but also to experience Cairns best restaurants and cafes.
